The current global pandemic has brought to light the substantial burden of infectious respiratory diseases in adults, particularly older adults and those with chronic medical conditions that may increase their risk. Many infectious respiratory diseases, such as influenza, pneumococcal pneumonia and COVID-19 are vaccine-preventable. This symposium aims to provide a forum for two separate discussions: – Pneumococcal vaccination for adults: evolving with the changing landscape – Development of an mRNA Covid-19 vaccine in a strategic collaboration
