Rapid and accurate antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) is crucial for effective infection management as well as for antibiotic stewardship and infection control. As rapid AST methods are increasingly becoming available, clinical microbiology laboratories face the challenge of adopting and incorporating these technologies taking into account their needs and resources. Speakers in this session will discuss available rapid AST methods.
